Craft: Fire Breathing Dragon
- Print out template on heavy paper and cut out pieces
- Color rectangle and glue into cylinder to make dragon's head
- Glue eyeballs and nostrils to head
- Cut strips of crepe paper, ribbon, tissue paper and glue to inside of dragon's mouth
- It will look like the dragon is breathing fire if you blow into the back part of the dragon's head




Extension Activities:
- Have a discussion with your child about fear.  Share what scares you and ask them what they are afraid of.  Talk about ways we can deal with that fear.
- Play a game of Simon Says asking your child to act out different emotions (i.e. scared, happy, sad, etc.)

- Color pieces of bear
- Glue pieces together to make a bear  (Use picture as guide.)






Extension Activities:
- Practice letter recognition by asking your child to point to all the Bs as you read.  
- I Am Bear is all about rhyming words.  Play a rhyming game.  Go back and forth with your child to see how many rhyming words you can come up with.

Craft:  Bat Clip
- Print out template in heavy paper and cut out
- Color pieces of bat
- Glue wings to back of bat's body
- Glue bat to clothespin



Extension Activities:
- While at the grocery store, ask your child to name the different fruits as you pass them in the produce section.
- Make a fruit salad with your child.  Let them wash the fruit and help peel and cut it if older.
