Craft: Snowman Match
- Print and cut out template pieces
- Color pieces of snowmen
- Match shapes together along with the hat that fits those shapes
- Glue shapes together to make three snowmen


Extension Activities:
- Make a snowman by stuffing a water bottle with cotton balls.  Have your child stuff as many cotton balls as they can into the bottle.  Decorate by gluing on buttons, yarn, and paper pieces for the snowman's features.
- Do a science experiment to make a Melting Foam Snowman using baking soda, dish soap, salt, vinegar, and waterproof snowman accessories.  For directions on how to make and melt the Foam Snowman visit https://www.funathomewithkids.com/2013/12/foaming-dough-recipe-magic-foaming.html.

Craft: Snowball Drop Game
- Drop snowballs (cotton balls) onto ground
- Try to pick up snowballs using the straws like chopsticks
- See who can pick up all the snowballs the quickest







Extension Activities:
- Have a snowball fight.  If you currently don't have snow outside, then have an indoor snowball fight using wadded up paper as snowballs.
- Do some snow painting.  Fill a large plastic container/storage bin with snow.  Paint with dyed water (just a few drops of food coloring in a cup of water).  If you don't have snow, paint with colored ice cubes (freeze water with food coloring) onto thick, heavy paper.

Craft: Snowflake
- Print out a snowflake onto heavy paper
- Optional: Cut snowflake out by cutting a circle around the snowflake
- Color snowflake
- Glue on sequins to decorate







Extension Activities:
- Discuss with your child what should be worn in the snow.  Ask them to find all the clothes items they would wear outside in the snow.
- Make paper snowflakes.  Simple patterns can be found online or simply make your own by cutting shapes out of folded paper.

Craft: Lace-Up Mittens
- Print at least two of the template on heavy paper or cardstock and cut out mittens
- Line up mittens and punch holes along edges
- Color mittens
- Line up mittens and lace together with yarn





Extension Activities:
- Go on a winter scavenger hunt.  Look for various items including a cardinal bird, icicle, pinecone, snowman, etc.
- Talk with your child about the clothing you wear in the winter.  What do you wear?  Why do you wear it?
