Craft:  Little Blue Truck or Monkey Truck
- Color truck pieces (body and wheels) and craft sticks
- Glue craft sticks to truck as truck bed and circles as wheels
- Optional: Color monkey head and glue to truck cab to make into a Monkey Truck.



Extension Activities:
- Little Blue Truck is about treating others with kindness.  Talk with your child about things we can do show kindness to others.
- Review the different types of transportation we have read about this past month.  See if your child can name any other types of transportation (i.e. helicopter, bicycled, etc.).

Craft: Rolled Bi-Plane
- Cut a piece of heavy paper or cardstock into a quarter piece (5-1/2" x 4-1/4") and two strips (5-1/2"" x 1").
- Color quarter piece as plane body before rolling and gluing into a tube.
- Color two strips as wings.
- Glue first strip to top front of body.
- Fold second strip so there is a "bump" in the middle and glue to top back of body.


Extension Activities:
- See how many parts of a car your child can name (i.e. windshield, mirror, tail light, etc.).
- Plan a road trip with your child.  Show them the route on a map.  Have them help decide on and pack any supplies (i.e. snacks, toys, etc.) you might want to take.

Craft:  Rocking Boat
- Color the outer ring on a paper plate blue for the water.
- Color the inner circle of the paper plate as a boat.
- Fold the plate in half.
- Cut out a triangle and glue to a craft stick.  Glue the craft stick to the folded edge of the plate as the sail.
- Color and cut out fish to glue in the "water" below the boat.






Extension Activities:
- Boats are able to float in the water.  Have your child test different objects to see if they will float.
- See if your child can build a boat out of Legos or other building blocks.

Craft: Train Puzzle
- Print out the template below onto heavy paper or cardstock
- Color picture
- Cut on the lines to make a twelve piece puzzle


Extension Activities:
- Go on a field trip and visit a transportation themed museum or a race track.
- Play a game to see how many of each colored car you can see.  This can be played by watching the road in front of your house or driving/walking through a parking lot.
