Lisa Wheeler Story Time -- 3/28/23

Story Times are held weekly on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am. A monthly virtual Story Time is posted the first Tuesday of the month on the library's Facebook page.  It is available to view for one month before the next video is posted.

Craft: Gingerbread Man

- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper

- Color pieces (rectangle body, arms, legs, head)

- Glue rectangle body into tube

- Glue legs wrapped around bottom of tube

- Glue arms wrapped around middle of tube

- Glue head to top of tube

Extension Activities:

- Have a bubble gum blowing contest.  See who can blow the biggest, smallest, etc bubbles.

- Have your child list things they can and can NOT bite.

Craft: Planted Kiss
- Draw a stem and leaf onto a piece of paper
- Cut out small hearts from colored paper and glue onto paper as flower
- Glue on sparkles to make your "kiss" grow

Extension Activities:

- Do some cloud watching with your child.  See if you can find any shapes in the clouds.
- Plant some flowers or other seeds with your child.  Ask them to take care of them under they grow.

Craft: Mr. Bacon Bookmark
- Print template onto heavy paper or cardstock and cut out pieces (mustache, hat)

- Cut a 8-1/2"x2-1/2" strip from cardstock or heavy paper

- Color strip as bacon making sure to include some bacon stripes

- Color hat and glue to top of bacon

- Draw eyes onto bacon

- Glue mustache below eyes

Extension Activities:

- After reading Everyone Loves Bacon, see if your child can "write" a similar story with their favorite food.

- After reading Gaston, discuss how various family members have different likes, traits, etc.  How are the family similar and how are they different?

Craft: Farm Tic-Tac-Toe

- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper

- Cut out barn tic-tac-toe board and cow and chicken game pieces

- Color barn tic-tac-toe board and cow and chicken game pieces

Extension Activities:

- Visit a farm.  Suson Park has a farm with animals for children to visit.

- At bedtime, ask your child to do a version of Goodnight Moon by having them say good night to the various items in their bedroom.

Virtual Story Time: Women's History Month -- March 2023
