Craft: Dinosaur Puzzle

- Print template (left) on cardstock or heavy paper

- Color picture

- Cut along straight lines to make a 12 piece puzzle

Extension Activities:

- Retell The Quiet Forest but with different animals.  Ask your child to suggest animals and what their action would be.

- Learn more about dinosaurs.  Check out one of the informational dinosaur books from the library.

- Print template (at left) onto cardstock or heavy paper
- Cut out pieces (baby, mustache)

- Color pieces

- Glue mustache to baby's face

Extension Activities:

- Practice voting.  Have your child(ren) vote on different things such as favorite food, book, game, etc.

Virtual Story Time: Community Helpers -- September 2025

Each month, Miss Amy records a virtual Story Time that goes along with the monthly theme.  It will be posted monthly in the morning of the first Tuesday of the month.  (The video is available to watch for one month before a new one is uploaded.)

Extension Activities:
- Have fun with some dramatic play.  Act out various jobs such as news reporter, store clerk, policeman, etc.
- Go on a field trip to various see how various community helpers work.  Can't go in person?  PBS offers a lot of great virtual field trips for preschoolers.
- Build a city or neighborhood using blocks, Legos, recycled materials, etc.  Include places such as a store, fire station, restaurant, park, etc.

Craft: Sunny All About Me   
- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper

- Cut out pieces (center circle, rays)

- Color center with child's name or picture

- Decorate rays as directed and color
- Glue rays to center to make sun

Extension Activities:

- Make a self-portrait.  Have a variety of art and collage supplies for the children to use to make their portraits.

- Play a game of charades using emotions.

Craft: Hickory Dickory Clock with Mouse

- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper

- Cut out pieces (clock arms, mouse)

- Write hour numbers around edges of paper plate

- Colors arms and punch hole into end that is not the arrow

- Use a brad to attach the arms to the center of the paper plate.

- Color mouse

- Cut a piece of yarn and tape to back of mouse for tail

- Glue mouse to clock

Extension Activities:

-  Make a chart with your child of the day's activities writing down what they generally do each of the day they are awake.

-  Poll family and friends to see what their favorite season of the year is.  Why is their favorite season?
