Craft: Cow Bookmark

- Print template on heavy paper or cardstock

- Cut out pieces

- Color pieces

- Glue head to top of body

- Glue bell beneath head

Extension Activities:

- Not Now, Cow is all about seasons and the clothes and activities for each season.  Ask your child to pull out appropriate clothes and/or toys for the season you name.

- After reading Something Stinks, have a smell test.  Ask your child to close their eyes and then tell you what object you have by smell.

Craft: Cone Santa

- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper

- Color Santa

- Cut out colored cone with tab

- Glue along the tab before rolling into cone.  You may want to tape to reinforce the glue.

- Optional:  Glue pieces of cotton ball or tissue paper on Santa's beard

Extension Activities:

- Make Christmas cards for family and friends.  This allows your child to both practice their writing and be creative artistically.

- Go on a scavenger hunt for Christmas related items (ex - candy canes, ornaments, star, etc.).

- Glue ears to top of head.

- Glue feet to opposite end of body.

- Glue tail to side of body.

Extension Activities:

- Both of this week's books involve some fun word play.  Play a word game with your child.  Ask them to make up "funny" rhyming words.

- Play a game of hide and seek.

Extension Activities:

- Both of today's books are about paying attention and noticing details.  Play a game of I Spy to encourage your child to notice things around them.

- Enjoy a movie featuring dragons after reading Where Is the Dragon?.  Possible movies include Pete's Dragon, How to Train Your Dragon, etc.
