Superbat by Matt Carr

Craft: Bat
- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper
- Cut out pieces (body, two wings)
- Color pieces
- Glue wings to side of bat's body

Extension Activities:
- Create a bat sensory bin using dry rice and dried bow tie pasta (bats).  Have kids search out and try to pick up the "bats" with tongs to practice hand-eye coordination.
- Make a bat out of a coffee filter and clothespin.  Color the clothespin as the bat's body.  Color the coffee filter for the wings.  (You could use washable markers on the coffee filter and spritz with a little water for some science fun.) Fold the coffee filter in half and then clip with the clothespin for the wings.
