The children colored a bus cutout and three children cutouts. The children cutouts could be slid into slots cut at the bottom of the bus windows.
Literacy Extensions:
- If your child has not yet started school, see about taking a tour of their possible future school to familiarize them with the setting.
- If you child does attend school, see if they can tell you the daily schedule of events.

Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! by Mo Willems *
Don't Squish the Sasqutch! by Kent Redeker
The Little School Bus by Margery Cuyler *
Pete the Cat: The Wheels on the Bus by James Dean
Craft: Bus
Kids colored a bus cutout before gluing on wheels.
Literacy Extensions:
- After reading Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, have your child come up with more ways for pigeon to ask to drive the bus.
- If you live in an area that has bus service, go on a bus ride with your child.

Craft: School Bus
Children were given a school bus that was cut out of cardstock and three people cutouts to be colored. Slits were cut at the bottoms of the bus windows so the people could be slid in and out.

- Discuss the different adults and their roles at the school (i.e. The Wheels on the School Bus)
