Books:
Come Along, Daisy! by Jane Simmons *
Five Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree by Eileen Christelow *
Follow the Leader! by Emma Chichester Clark
Hooray for Today! by Brian Won *
One Busy Day by Lola M. Schaefer
Craft: Five Little Monkeys Picture
Children colored a coloring sheet with a tree and crocodile on it. They then colored five monkey cutouts and glued them onto the picture.
Literacy Extensions:
- Use the book Come Along, Daisy to talk about safety while in public. It is a great book for discussing why we need to stay close to our adults.
- Play a game of Follow the Leader.

Books:
Banana! by Ed Vere
Come Along, Daisy! by Jane Simmons *
Dig! by Andrea Zimmerman *
Dimity Duck by Jane Yolen
Dream Weaver by Jonathan London
Pete the Cat: The Wheels on the Bus by James Dean *
Craft: Paper Plate Duck
We made the duck as pictured except we only used on paper plate instead of adding the half plate as a head and we only glued on one beak instead of both the top and bottom. The pieces beak, wings and feet were from yellow paper and was glued onto a small paper plate.
Literacy Extensions:
- Discuss simple good manners with your child (i.e. Banana!)
- Work on rhyming words. See how many words your child can rhyme with the world "yellow".
