All About Food: Bread & Doughnuts -- November 29-30, 2021

Outdoor Story Times are held weekly on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am, weather permitting.  (Registration is required to attend.)  Online Story Times will be posted weekly on Tuesday mornings.  (The video is available to watch for one week before a new one is uploaded.)

Bread and Jam for Frances by Russell Hoban
Chicken Soup with Rice by Maurice Sendak
Cupcake by Charise Mericle Harper
Fry Bread by Kevin Maillard
The Little Red Hen by Harriet Ziefert
Toasty by Sarah Hwang
Who Put the Cookies in the Cookie Jar? by George Shannon
Whopper Cake by Karma Wilson



Craft: Cupcake Magnet
- Print template on cardstock or heavy paper and cut out
- Color cupcake base and icing
- Glue icing to top of cupcake base
- Glue sequins to icing as sprinkels
- Attach a magnet to the back of the cupcake




Extension Activities:
- Make some pasta art.  Glue different pasta shapes onto heavy paper to make a picture.  Optional -- dye the pasta different colors first.
- Bake a dessert together (i.e. cake, cupcakes, cookies, etc.).

Craft: Gingerbread Person Cookie
- Print out template on cardstock or heavy paper and cut out
- Decorate gingerbread person with crayons, sequins, paper, yarn, etc.







Extension Activities:
- Have a discussion with your child about table manners after reading How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food.
- Possum Magic mentions several different foods popular in Australia.  Pick a country and try different foods from there.
