Books:
Milo Is Missing Something by Vern Kousky
The Missing Pairs by Yvonne Ivinson
Not an Alphabet Book: The Case of the Missing Cake by Eoin McLaughlin
Pete the Kitty and the Unicorn's Missing Colors by Kim Dean
The Web Files by Marge Palatini
- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper
- Cut out pieces (body, arms, legs, ears, and tail) and color.
- Roll body and glue into a ring.
- Glue medium strip onto inside front of ring to make arms that stick out either side.
- Glue feet to bottom of ring.
- Glue ears to top of ring.
- Glue tail to back of ring.
- Optional: Curl tail if you like.
Extension Activities:
- Play a game of I Spy giving hints of the first letter the items start with.
- A great skill to have to solve mysteries is to pay attention and to remember. Place several items on a tray and let your child look it over for 30-60 seconds. Then take the tray away and have them tell you what was on the tray. Increase the number of items on the tray each time to see how many things they can remember.
