Craft:  Paper Shamrock / Clover
- Cut green paper into strips about 1" trick  (You will need 4 strips for a shamrock and 5 strips for a clover)
- Make the leaves by folding and gluing all but one of the strips into hearts  (To make a heart, fold a strip in half.  Then bend the two ends so they rest together and glue)
- Make the stem by gluing the two ends of the final strip together.  Then fold in two spots towards the center to make a long, narrow triangle.
- Glue all the pieces together to make into a shamrock/clover.  The hearts should be glued together at the bottom points.  Make sure to glue the triangle stem between two of the hearts.

Extension Activities:
- Go on a hunt outside for clover.  See how many 3 leaf clovers and 4 leaf clovers you can find.
- Learn about the symbols of St. Patrick's Day including the difference between shamrocks and clover, what makes a rainbow, and the history of St. Patrick.  Books on these topics can be found at the library.
