Fairies Story Time -- 2/28/23

Story Times are held weekly on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am. 
A monthly virtual Story Time is posted the first Tuesday of the month on the library's Facebook page.  It is available to view for one month before the next video is posted.

The Wizard, the Fairy, and the Magic Chicken by Helen Lester

Craft: Fairy
- Print template onto heavy paper or cardstock

- Color pieces (head, wings, coffee filter dress, jumbo craft stick body)

- Fold coffee filter in half and glue craft stick to center

- Wrap coffee filter around craft stick and glue in place to make dress

- Twist pipe cleaner around craft stick towards top of dress to make arms

- Glue head to top of craft stick

- Glue wings to back of craft stick under the head

Extension Activities:

- Fairies are often characters in fairy tales.  See how many fairy tales your child can name that feature a fairy in the story. (i.e. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc.)

- Make edible fairy magic wands to eat for a snack.  Dip a pretzel rod into icing and then cover icing with sprinkles.

Craft: Outlined Rabbit
The kids colored a large sheet with a bunny outline on it.  They then glued on small paper squares to the black outline.

Extension Activities:
- Discuss with your child what things would make up their "perfect day".
- The Rabbit Listened shows different ways to react when things go wrong.  Discuss with your child the different ways of acting and which they think are better.
