Kids Songs: The Farmer in the Dell -- 1/6/26

Story Times are held weekly on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am. A monthly virtual Story Time is posted the first Tuesday of the month on the library's Facebook page.  It is available to view for one month before the next video is posted.

Craft: Animal Match
- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper (makes two sets)
- Color animals
- Cut along lines to make cards
- You can play a memory matching game by either trying to find both halves of the same animal or by creating new animals


Extension Activities:
- Visit a local petting zoo or farm such as Suson Park to visit the farm animals.
- Play a game of animals charades.

More Learning Concepts: 8/30/22

Craft: Animals Match
- Print out template at left onto heavy paper or cardstock
- Color the matching animals as similar as you can
- Cut the sheet apart on the straight lines to create twelve cards
- Play a game of Memory Match using the cards








Extension Activities:
- Throughout the day, ask your child to come up with how different items are the same.  (ex. peas and carrots, boots and shoes, etc.)
- Have some fun with measuring.  Give your child a tape measure and ask them to measure different items to see which are bigger and smaller.

Colors & Shapes Story Time: August 19-20, 2019

Craft: Butterfly Matching Sheet
The kids match shape cutouts to the shapes on a butterfly coloring sheet.



Extension Activities:
- Play a game of I Spy mixing it up between looking for colored and shaped objects.
- Practice color mixing with dyed ice cubes.  Make colored ice cubes using food coloring.  Ask your child to guess what colors they will get by mixing the different melted cubes.

Craft: Emotions Coloring Sheet
Children were given a matching coloring sheet.  They were asked to color the faces the color of the matching emotion.


Extension Activities:
- Discuss with your child different coping techniques for when they feel mad (i.e. deep breaths, counting to ten, etc.)
- See how many different emotions and feelings your child can identify.  Ask them to describe how different emotions make they feel and act.
