Craft: CD Turkey
This week's craft was based on the picture at left. The children glued strips of brown paper onto a used cd-rom. They then glued on the eyes/beak/waddle combo piece to make the face. They colored cutout feathers to glue to the back of the cd-rom. An orange pipe cleaner was folded in half and taped to the back of the cd-rom to make the turkey's legs.
Literacy Extensions:
- We read about turkeys this week in preparation for Thanksgiving. Talk with your child about things for which you are thankful. Have your child draw or "write" on the turkey's feathers different things for which they are thankful.
- Practice drawing skills. Have your child trace their hand to make the traditional turkey.
