Chicken Story Time: May 6-7, 2019

Books:
Chicken Butt by Erica Perl *
Chicken in the Kitchen by Tony Johnson *
Chicken Story Time by Sandy Asher *
Chicken Wants a Nap by Tracy Marchini *
Chickens to the Rescue by John Himmelman
Minerva Louise and the Red Truck by Janet Morgan Stoeke

Craft: Chickens in a Nest
This week's craft is based on the above picture.  Kids colored three chicken cutouts.  They also colored a paper plate cut in half.  The chickens were glued to one half of the plate.  The other half of the plate was either glued or stapled to make it into a nest.

Extension Activities:
- Chicken Butt is a book of rhymes for body parts.  See if your child can come up with more rhymes for various body parts.
- Practice counting while reading the books.  Ask your child to count how many chickens are on each page of Chicken Story Time or Chickens to the Rescue.
