Story Times
are held weekly on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am. A monthly
virtual Story Time is posted the first Tuesday of the month on the
library's Facebook page. It is available to view for one month before
the next video is posted.

Adventures in the Forest -- 7/9/24
Books:
Full Moon by Camilla Pintonato
Hello, Sun by Julie Downing
Hunters of the Great Forest by Dennis Nolan
The More the Merrier by David Martin
Tidy by Emily Gravett
Way Up High in a Tall Green Tree by Jan Peck
Craft: Fox Headband
- Print template (at left) onto cardstock or heavy paper
- Cut out fox head and color
- Cut two long strips and glue together
- Glue strips to fox head to fit child's head
Extension Activities:
- Collect some fallen leaves. Make a collage out of the leaves or do some leaf painting with them.
- Go on a nature walk through a forest. Have your child point out any animals they see.

Shake the Tree! by Chiara Vignocchi
What Does an Anteater Eat? by Ross Collins
- Color octopus head and eight strips of paper (legs/arms).
- Glue strips legs/arms to band at bottom of octopus’ head.
- Glue band with legs/arms into a circle to complete your octopus.
- Optional — Curl the edges of the octopus’ arms/legs.
(A limited number of crafts are available for pick up at the Arnold Branch Monday, 11/16 - Saturday, 11/21/20.)
Extension Activities:
- Take a poll of family members -- Are an octopus' tentacles arms or legs?
- Practice drumming with the videos from Musication on YouTube. If you would like something quieter, try clapping along instead of "drumming".
- You can vote for your choice for the Building Block Award after reading/listening to five of the nominees. Click HERE to vote.
