Dinosaurs (and Goldilocks) -- 6/23/26

Craft: Triceratops Crown
- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper
- Cut out pieces (head, strips)
- Color pieces
- Glue pieces together into crown




Extension Activities:
- Have fun changing up the Goldilocks story.  Replace the characters, food, furniture and see how it would change the story.

I Am Invited to a Party! -- 5/5/26

Craft: Party Crown
- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper
- Color and cut out PARTY image
- Glue paper strips to sides to make into crown
- Optional: Glue on sequins for extra bling




Extension Activities:
- Talk about different types of parties.  Ask your child to come up with the perfect outfit for the different types of parties.
- Have your child "plan" their perfect party.  What activities would there be?  What food would be served?  Where would it be held?  Try to do some of the party activities/foods if possible.

Royal Stories: The Princess and the Pit Stop -- 4/15/25

- Print template (at left) onto cardstock or heavy paper
- Cut out crown pieces
- Color pieces
- Optional -- Glue on sequins for jewels
- Glue pieces together into headband to fit head



Extension Activities:
- At the end of the The Princess and the Pit Stop they had a dance contest.  Have a fun royal dance party.  Try out different dances.
- Play a game of Telephone.  Have several children line up in a row.  Whisper a sentence into the first child's ear.  Have them then whisper that sentence into the next child's ear and so on through the line.  See how the sentence changed by the end of the line.

Craft: Party Crown
- Print template at left onto heavy paper or cardstock
- Cut out template plus additional strips as needed
- Decorate pieces with colors, sequins, pompoms, etc
- Glue pieces into crown shape to fit child's head



Extension Activities:
- Play a game of Color I Spy.  Ask your child to find items of certain colors.
- Ask your child to make their own counting story.

Craft: Crown
I found a crown template online.  (There are plenty to choose from.)  The kids colored and then glued sequins to the crowns.  Strips of yellow paper were glued to the back so the kids could wear the crown.

Literacy Extensions:
- After reading Princess Palooza, have your child design their favorite princess (i.e. sports princess, cooking princess, etc.)
- Pick a famous princess from history and learn a little about them.
