If You're a Monster and You Know It -- 10/14/25

Story Times are held weekly on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am. A monthly virtual Story Time is posted the first Tuesday of the month on the library's Facebook page.  It is available to view for one month before the next video is posted.

Craft: Skeleton
- Print skeleton outline onto colored paper
- Print skull onto white paper and cut out
- Cut white paper into short paper strips (1/2" x 1-1/2")
- Glue strips onto skeleton outline for bones
- Glue head to top of skeleton




Extension Activities:
- Learn about our bones and different types of skeletons.  Check out an informational book from the library to look at true skeletons.
- Talk about friendship and how we should treat out friends.

Naughty or Nice, Week 2 -- 12/12/23

Craft: Cow Bell
- Print template onto cardstock or heavy paper
- Cut out pieces (bell body, legs, ears)
- Draw two horn shapes and cut out from cardstock or heavy paper also
- Color pieces 
- Glue legs to bottom of bell
- Glue ears to side of bell
- Glue horns to top of bell


Extension Activities:
- After reading I Just Ate My Friend discuss with your child ways to behave with friends.  What behaviors are naughty or nice.
- Sharing is a great way to be "nice".  Make a snack or treat with your child to share with others.

Craft: O is for Owl
- Print template on cardstock or heavy paper
- Color pieces of owl (O body, head with beak, wings, feet) before cutting out pieces
- Glue head to top of body
- Glue wings to sides of body
- Glue feet to bottom of body


Extension Activities:
- Make a Name Puzzle.  Write your child's name on a long piece of paper.  Have your child decorate the paper before cutting it into pieces so each letter is on a different piece.  See if your child can put their name back together again.
- Get messy by making some painted O art.  Place a small amount of paint in a shallow dish.  Then let your child stamp Os on a piece of paper using a variety of things (i.e. paper towel tubes, drinking straws, round plastic lids, etc.).

Owls Story Time -- Outdoor 6/7/21 and Virtual 6/8/21

Outdoor Story Times are held weekly on Monday mornings at 10:00 am and 11:00 am.  (Registration is required to attend.)  Online Story Times will be posted weekly on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am.  (The video is available to watch for one week before a new one is uploaded.)

Craft:  Owl
- Print template of owl on heavy paper and cut out pieces
- Color pieces of owl (body, wings, eyes, beak)
- Glue pieces together following picture at left as a guide
- Optional:  Add sparkles or tissue paper for extra decoration






Extension Activities:
- Visit the Wild Bird Sanctuary to learn more about owls and other birds.
- Go on a nature walk to look for different birds.  Can you name them?

Craft: CD Teddy Bear
The kids colored cardstock cutouts of bear's head and paws before gluing to a used cd-rom.




Extension Activities:
- Hello Hello introduces aspects as animals throughout the book.  Ask your child to come up with their own "Hello's" based on the aspects they see in the illustrations.
- Play a game of hide and seek with the CD Teddy Bear craft you make.  Hide the teddy bear and see if your child can find it.
