Story Times are held weekly on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am. A monthly virtual Story Time is posted the first Tuesday of the month on the library's Facebook page.  It is available to view for one month before the next video is posted.

Craft: Tiny T. Rex Doorhanger

- Print template at left onto cardstock or heavy paper

- Cut out doorhanger also cutting out circle along dotted lines

- Color doorhanger

- Add stickers so Tiny is not scared of the dark

Extension Activities:

- Have a discussion with your child about their fears.  What are they scared of?  How might they help deal with those fears?

- Make a decorative night light for your child's room.  Buy a night light with a flat "screen".  It can be decorated using Sharpies.

Craft: Big Green Monster

- Print out template and color

- Cut out facial featuers (hair, eyes, ears, nose, mouth)

- Color small paper plate

- Glue facial features to plate to make monster

Extension Activities:

- Go Away Big Green Monster uses sequencing to tell the story.  Ask your child to tell a simple story using sequencing.  Stories could include the steps to getting dressed or making a snack.

- We have been reading stories about the color green all month.  Go on a green scavenger hunt seeing how many things your child can find that is the color green.

Craft: Ghost
Our craft this week was based on the craft pictured to the left.  Each child was given a piece of white cardstock that had been cut in half longways that they colored a face onto.  They then glued on pieces of white crepe paper along the bottom before gluing the cardstock into a cylinder.

Literacy Extensions:
- Have you child come up with their own counting rhyme featuring monsters (i.e. Ten Creepy Monsters or Ghost in the House)
- Talk about body parts by having your child describe the various features of the characters in the book your reading (i.e. Go Away, Big Green Monster)

Craft: Hearts Necklace
Each child was given three hearts to color along with beads and a piece of curling ribbon.  The hearts could be glued together or strung onto the ribbon individually with the beads to make a necklace.

Literacy Extensions:
- With your child try to come up with expressions to show how much you love each other (i.e. Guess How Much I Love You and I Loathe You)
- See how many rhymes your child can come up with for the words "I", "love", and "you".
